EOC’s that have WinLink capabilities??

Good morning everybody. I am looking to see if anybody has or knows of a www. link that would point me too a list of “Texas” Emergency Operation Centers that have WinLink in place or capable of doing WinLink Texas.

Joseph,
Yes and No… This is not a complete list but it is a great start…

Tom’s Texas RMS Packet/VARA FM Stations website shows LIVE sites and is automatically updated/refreshed every few minutes…

Just search for EOCs and PD (as in Police Dept)

Don’t forget SOC as in the TX State Operations Center…

Whatever you do, don’t fall victim to “paralysis by analysis.” Go ahead and
buy/build one and start tinkering with it. This is a learn-by-doing hobby.

Oh, ADD ESOC too… Williamson Co calls their EOC, ESOC

I’ll check it out. The Medina County ARC WinLink chair is gathering this info for their WinLink group.
Thank you for the tip Dallas.

Enjoy Summer field day.

Our group, CFCARC (Cy-Fair CERT Amateur Radio Committee – www.cyfaircert.org/cfcarc ) is definitely interested in receiving such a list when finished. Thx!

I’m packing stuff for FD now… We will be operating as W4GR 8A GA… I’ll be the 40m SSB Station Captain…

One tip about the RMS status page… If you do a search and the site refreshes it nukes your search so you might have to redo the search a few times to get the info…

Also, PRINT it out as this info is gone once the internet goes dark…

Print to a PDF and save on a thumb drive as this may be your only way to remember the District County, Call, Freq, Email address, etc

Will do. Oscar (AI5AG) is compiling what he can get. I’ll have a chat with him.

Joe KI5IQE

One more suggestion to pass on to Oscar… If he uses Google Docs or Spreadsheets for his list he can give access to a few to EDIT and he/they can PUBLISH the list to the web so that any changes they make are updated and posted across the internet within 5 minutes…

Here is an example of my friend Murphy and his daughters…

I feel him ! LOL

Try Winlink.org>Tools>Local>Texas RMS Packet Network

It would be a great ideal to have a complete list. Our CEOC is not listed for all of it’s Winlink stations.
N5BRZ-12 Vara Fm 145.07MHz and N5BRZ-10 packet 145.09MHZ.

Could someone start one and place it in the files section?

Im waiting on my WinLink Chair from the HCARC to come back from Mexico to talk to him about starting such a list.

A packet list is already maintained by N5TW and up to the minute correct.

If your EOC is not on this list or your data is not complete, or you have more than 1 station, then get with Tom for additions or corrections.

How do we access N5TWs list? And update as necessary?

The website is at PacStat Uptime Data (ecpi.com)

Below is a snippet of the website. The list uses an Excel spreadsheet to query the Winlink system to get status for stations on that spreadsheet. You can hover the cursor over the categories at the top of each column to get a tool tip on what that column represents.

If you want to be on the list, email me off-list the information for the station you wish to be listed. I need the District/County, the callsign plus SSID, the frequency, the call or alias for any digipeater and any comment for the Notes column. If there is a Winlink email address for the site you want listed, include that. Let me know if this is a packet and or VARA FM station and if packet, the baud rate (most are 1200) and if VARA FM, whether it is wide or narrow.

The “R” column indicates whether RMS Relay is used at the site. RMS Relay can be used to hub messages for local pickup in the event of a loss of internet or can be used in conjunction with an HF setup to forward mail via HF in an outage. For most sites, this is blank. Categories of that are Yes (running) or Standby if you have Relay running but not enabled (A common practice where there are multiple RMS stations in an area and you don’t want mail stranded at a site without the Internet.) A further category for Relay if HF forwarding capability or that but in standby mode.
