Dallas this is the email we get. In order for us to subscribe we have to reply. The only thing I could think is people are hitting reply to all instead of just reply.

Replying to the invitation is not what caused all this. On the invitation, there are two options – either reply to the inviattion or click on the “accept” link. But the reply address for Joshua’s was set to main+invite+6943248767921776326+2049516@stxares.groups.io which is a unique address specific to Joshua’s invitation and his reply would not go out to the group. This is similar to everyone’s invitation. The reply address on mine would be different and unique to me.
What happened was one user was confused and after joining the group, sent the infamous “confirm email” to the group. Many other just followed suit and replied.
Copy that, that makes total sense I ignored them and since my email groups them together I can delete them all at once. It doesn’t clutter my email. It is annoying though I can see the frustration.
