Hello all EC’s, DEC’s, ASEC’s and other interested parties,
Mr. Keith Klimple, K5DKK, has accepted the position of Emergency Coordinator (EC) for Montgomery County in District 1 of the South Texas Section. District 1 is composed of Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller counties. Keith’s appointment was recommended by Montgomery County ARES Membership and EC Gerald (Gerry) Messerschmidt, K5GLM, and is approved by Section Manager Mr. Stuart Wolfe KF5NIX.
Keith was born and raised in Houston. Keith started volunteering during High School with Northwest VFD, then attended Texas A&M Fire School and graduated as a professional Firefighter / EMT. He worked as a professional firefighter/ EMT in the fire department and Ambulance service in Anderson County, Tx.
Keith returned to the Houston area and continued his work in the security industry, construction and inspection, home automation, network D/C/I/M, Land Mobile Radio, Fiber Networks, and he is currently owner of a systems integration company.
Mr. Klimple is a general class license holder (04/2019) and has participated in many clubs, Northwest ARC (former), Katy ARC, The Woodlands ARC, and Montgomery County ARC, Conroe, TX.
Keith has taken multiple FEMA classes and has trained in COMT, COML, AUXCOMM and EOC.
Keith is an ARRL member and ARES Dual member with Harris County ARES – D14-NW Member and Montgomery County ARES, serving as AEC Technical Coordinator (for Montgomery County).
Keith has also participated in CERT for over 7 Years, Keith is a Master Instructor and Program Manager currently serving at Tomball FD, TX.
This appointment is effective January 1, 2026.
