NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

I have just published a new training module called NWO-101 New Member Orientation to the District 14 Training Files section. As you will see, it is
specifically tailored for the District 14, NW Unit but it can be downloaded and modified with any presentation software like Windows PowerPoint or
OpenOffice Presentation or similar and then uploaded to your system. NOTE: If you change anything other than names, email addresses, etc., in other
words anything material to the presentation itself, please post a message here so we can all fix our presentations.

I have four goals…

  1. First and foremost, I want to freshen up our trainings. I know that our current, radio based offerings are boring.
  2. I wish to bring new members up to speed and get them oriented to ARES and the ICS system asap.
  3. I want to test the waters to see how members react to leaving our weekly ARES nets and doing a QSY over to a computer
based, A/V training which will include a log-in/log-out component.
  4. I want to direct members’ attentions to their task books in order to revive their interest in ARES. You would be astounded
at how few qualified members there are in District 14…we only have two members who are Away-Team certified.
Your thoughts, opinions and suggestions are all welcome. Please don’t shoot the messenger. lol
