Red Cross and ARRL Field Day in Texas - Official Visit Requests

Red Cross is offering Field Day Visits to Class A field day sites throughout TX. Sites that are specifically set up for Field Day.

The Red Cross is offering:

  • Message handling – Delivery is acknowledged on Winlink to Red Cross Tactical Addresses below

  • Official site visit by Red Cross Representatives

  • Visit certificate and checklist (Emergency Power, etc.)

All of these items are listed in the field day rules and result in points. [ http://www.arrl.org/field-day-rules ]

Field Day sites requesting visits must be in the field day tracker - http://www.arrl.org/field-day-locator

Field Day sites must request the visit by June 11, 2021. Make sure you include the contact name, email address, cell phone number, and address of your field day site. We will respond with a visit confirmation.

All station classes (A-F) may also participate in message handling and acknowledgement via WINLINK to

“TXRCAUS-DST;TXRCHOU-DST;TXRCAUSDSTCM” .

Red Cross very much appreciates the fact that field day is an emergency exercise. An exercise that allows FCC licensed Radio Operators to experience how to work in abnormal situations and less than optimal conditions. A premium is placed on developing skills to meet the challenges of emergency preparedness.

Red Cross encouragement of participation in Field Day by regions and chapters is included in the MOU between the ARRL and Red Cross.
