SK - Patricia "Pat" Knight AD5BR

I’ve had a couple of hams contact me and tell me that they had just now heard, almost 3 weeks later, that my wife, Pat, had passed away on September 2nd.

Pat died of natural causes, but not a stroke like the one she had had a year ago. She was only 66. She leaves behind me, her son John and my son David KD5MTJ. We have been married 22 1/2 years.

Pat was active in multiple ham radio clubs, she was an extra class ham, she coordinated the VE team for the San Antonio radio club, in addition to helping out with other VE teams around the area. She was a current officer for the San Antonio radio club, serving as a director. She was also the secretary for the Hill Country REACT team. She was active with the BikeMS / MS150 rides for Houston and San Antonio. When we had the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure rides out of San Antonio, she was active with that one as well. Up until about 10 years ago, she was very active with her neighborhood association. She did a lot of stuff, did a lot of good, and made a lot of friends within the ham radio community and everywhere she went.

Because she died without a will and without burial insurance, the family is now facing a lot of unexpected expenses. We started a GoFundMe account, but I also accept donations via the cash app and venmo. (Gofundme takes out about 3%, or more, from every donation. )

If anybody’s interested in that donation information, please contact me off the list, because I don’t want to try to start a fundraiser thread on this list, which has nothing to do with that topic. Several people from this group have already made donations.
