Solution to the email problem -- Re: [stxares] FYI -- US ARMY MARS INTEROP TRAFFIC

Regarding everyone’s inbox getting too many emails, the problem is that if you hit “Reply” (as opposed to “Reply All”), the email is addressed to main@stxares.groups.io which is all of South Texas. (Give it a try.) In other words, with these emails, “Reply” is equivalent to “Reply All”.

In the future, perhaps the sender can put his/her own email address in the “To” field, and then put main@stxares.group.io in the “Cc:” or “Bcc:” field. If this is done, then “Reply” goes to only the initial sender and nobody gets spammed. If you truly want your email to go to all of South Texas, then hit “Reply All”.

A 2nd solution to reduce the number of emails in your inbox from the STXARES group…

We have lots of sub-groups…

ALERTS, This subgroup is only for Alerts, Activations, and Announcements from ARES Leadership. ECs and above and post and approve other messages… They can also forward Alerts, Activations, and Announcements to the ALERTS subgroup… Everybody else is moderated so their emails wait until approved before anybody gets it… Since Dec 2019 exactly ZERO messages have been sent on this subgroup… That should just about keep your inbox HAPPY!!!

Each District has it’s own subgroups…

IF y’all want a ChitChat subgroup let me know and I can create one…

Whatever you do, don’t fall victim to “paralysis by
analysis.” Go ahead and buy/build one and start
tinkering with it. This is a learn by doing hobby.
