Texas ARES HF NET Report for 07/17/2023 72 Voice - 25 Digital

Thank you all that participated in the HF net tonight. Conditions were terrible but we got through it with everyone’s patience and the help of our relays.

We logged 72 voice and 25 Digital Check-ins.

If questions or comments, feel free to contact me directly at KD5U@ymail.net.
Thanks! John KD5U

Hi John,

Tried multiple times to check in last night to no avail. Even asked for someone to relay. I could barely pull NCO out of the noise.

Hi Skip, thanks for attempting to check in. Band conditions on 40M last night were horrendous.

Stations 800+ miles away were full copy and many stations within Texas were difficult to no copy at all. I couldn’t even hear our usual relay stations.

Hopefully next week conditions will be better.

This type of situation is also another reason we are looking for additional net controllers and / or regular relay stations in different parts of Texas.

Thanks again!

Regards,

John KD5U

20 and 40 were the worst I’ve seen last night .. I didn’t attempt due to antenna issue on 40 but I will get it fixed today I hope .. think I’ll make a dedicated 40 m antenna..
