ARES Buddies:

We haven’t had a drop of rain all day, in fact the sun is shining brightly in the sky. I have received email warnings for days, talking about how bad this storm is going to be. This has been another great big nothing burger. We can surly use the rain, but all these emails do is get our hopes up for rain that never comes.

Steve…
You have to remember that the emails are sent out based on the data that is available at that given time AND covers the entire forecast area from the NWS forecast office responsible to send out the warnings for that specific area you’re in.
Conditions are subject to change as the atmosphere does… So take that into consideration that at the time the email is sent, it’s based on the data available right then and is subject to change, which you and a lot of us have experienced.

There is still some real potential bad weather later if you look at the NWS site, particularly elevated CAPES, supercell composite, etc. from the SPC pages.
Let's not just yak about the weather on this forum when there's a potential weather event brewing. I'd like to be able to pay attention here without having to wade through a lot of rag chewing when there's something potentially going on.
