TX ARC EMCOMM Exercise 5/8 Reminders

A few reminders for the Saturday Exercise

Participation in the morning exercise is to be cleared with your EC (or DEC if you have no EC). We are looking for no more than one email per EC/county.

Statewide in TX please to or copy TXRCAUS-DST and TXRCAUSDSTCM in all messages. (Just like in Winter Storm URI)

In North Texas Red Cross Region please additionally copy N5ARC. (And follow the great IAP from Greg K5GTX if you are in ARRL NTX Section)

In Texas Gulf Coast Region please copy TXRCHOU-DST

To find out what region you are in go to redcross.org - “locate your chapter” and enter your zip code. Unfortunately ARRL sections and Red Cross regions are not aligned.

Several ARES organizations have produced great Incident Action Plans (IAPs) : Please follow your local leadership directions, and IAP instructions supersede what you hear from me.

For the afternoon - Our division is ARCSOUTHWEST.

I strongly recommend checking the “request message receipt” box on your messages so that you get positive confirmation that your message has been downloaded.

TX Winlink Operators have been the leader in both participation AND accuracy in every national exercise since its inception. I expect nothing less.

Do not forget to have fun!
